Event description

Description

Poshmark is excited to host our very first Girl Geek Dinner on June 13, 2019 at our headquarters in Redwood City! Doors open at 5:30pm, talks & panel begins at 6:30pm.

In 2017, only 17% of startups have a female founder, a smaller percentage are companies that cater to women, and even smaller is the percentage of those companies that have women in executive roles.

We’ve put together an eclectic panel of women leaders/founders of Poshmark giving talks on navigating the workplace as a businesswoman, mom, and friend. All genders are welcome!

Kick back and join us for an evening to learn, network - plus, enjoy a delicious dinner and great Poshmark swag!

Poshmark Girl Geek Dinner Speakers:

Tracy Sun - Co-Founder & Senior Vice President of New Markets, Poshmark

Tracy has spent the last 15 years between NYC and Silicon Valley at the intersection of fashion and technology. At Poshmark, Tracy has pioneered a social commerce platform that is shifting the fashion landscape, making shopping simple, fun and social, while also empowering entrepreneurs to build thriving retail businesses. Prior to Poshmark, Tracy was VP of merchandising at Brooklyn Industries, a New York City-based fashion retailer. She received her BA from Barnard College at Columbia University and her MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. Tracy has been highlighted as a “Top Female Tech Founder” by USA Today and TechCrunch, a “Woman Making Waves in Tech” by Refinery29, a “Retail Game-Changer” by Marie Claire and is a member of the BoF 500, the definitive professional index of the people shaping the $2.4 trillion fashion industry. Barkha Saxena - Chief Data Officer, Poshmark

As the Chief Data Officer at Poshmark, Barkha leads all data, analytics and data science initiatives across all areas of the business. Barkha has been in the data science space for over 15 years, starting as a hands-on data scientist. After spending more than 10 years in financial services and digital advertising, she was looking new challenges in the mobile, social or e-commerce space. Poshmark was a perfect combination of all three. What sparked her interest in the company was Poshmark’s founding team. Barkha joined the company five years ago as the first member of the data team and hasn’t looked back since.

Vanessa Wong - Senior Director, Product Management, Poshmark

Vanessa loves that she is taking part in revolutionizing the shopping space as Senior Director, Product Management at Poshmark. She works on Poshmark’s core experience, which runs the gamut of buying, selling, community features and the various platforms: iOS, Android and Web. Her background stems from product roles at CBS Interactive (CNET), Kaboodle, Mode Media and EAT Club. She completed her MBA at Santa Clara University and Undergrad at University of California, Davis. She’s addicted to sushi, ruffled tops, metallic shoes and is mom to 3 daughters under 5. Check out Vanessa’s Poshmark closet!

Angela Buckmaster - Associate Director, Community Operations, Poshmark

As the Associate Director of Community Operations, Angela handles and oversees the Community data, training, and product knowledge. Angela got her start at Poshmark through a high school friend that works at Poshmark. After she graduated from college, her friend reached out to let her know that Poshmark was hiring on the Community team, and the rest is history! Check out Angela’s Poshmark closet!

Camille Forde - Senior Manager, New Markets, Poshmark

Camille’s role on the New Markets team allows her to work cross-functionally on strategy and expansion projects for emerging areas such as retail. Camille joined Poshmark a year ago, after she completed an MBA at Berkeley-Haas School of Business. Check out Camille’s Poshmark closet!

Adrienne Hamrah - Software Engineer, Cloud Platform, Poshmark

Adrienne’s role on the Engineering team focuses on growth projects that bring in new users to the Poshmark platform. She works with our product managers to understand project requirements, design technical specifications, and write the code that drives the new features. Adrienne’s career at Poshmark started through a shared interest in food at a media preview for a new restaurant. At the event, she started chatting with a Poshmark employee about her recent career change to software. The employee raved about Poshmark's culture and values, and she suggested checking out career opportunities there. Fortunately, there was an opening that aligned with Adrienne career goals, and she’s felt the PoshLove ever since! Check out Adrienne’s Poshmark closet!
