High School Workshop
Saturday, December 3
As one of the most prolific printmakers and cartoonists in history, Jose Guadalupe Posada (1852-1913) was an innovator when it came to technique. Incorporating aspects of relief and intaglio printmaking into his process, Posada created powerful images that combined text and images to report the news, tell stories, invent characters, and make very funny jokes. In this hands-on intensive, students will learn a variety of printmaking techniques, invent their own characters, and tell stories relevant to audiences today.
