About this Event
This class series breaks down a portrait into manageable chunks.
February 3rd: Planning our portrait with choosing our subject and getting introduced to oil pastels and color pencils. It is encouraged to select someone with a different skin tone than yourself. Jess will be illustrating Maya Angelou. The base image will be taken from a projected image to save time and get into the nitty gritty of applying color and definition.
February 10th: Skin Tones! Color mixing and application. The base of the portrait. We also choose a background color and fill in this class.
February 17th: Eyes! ALL ABOUT THE EYES. Easily the most important part to any portrait. This class can be taken individually out of the series.
February 24th: Hair in Oil Pastel. Hair can be tricky and there are a lot of textures to choose from. We will be focusing on illustrative style with this class.
March 3rd: Lips. This is a fun class to attend all on its own if you miss the others. We are illustrating lips. Highlights and shadows galore! They are a pretty fun thing to draw.
March 10th: The finishing stage of our portrait. An all over evaluation and tweaking of our artwork. The last class of the series.
All materials are provided. Each class is an hour long. Members with The Bob Ross membership can attend this series. However, Jess will permit a member if she thinks they can handle this level of instruction and art skill. This is not recommended for children under 11. If you have a membership or class pass/day pass please message me to register and the count will be manually updated. Do not purchase the ticket here. Thank you!
