Description

This workshop serves to augment the portfolio review process for art school/college bound students or creatives looking to tighten up their portfolio. Designed as seminar-type studio sessions that allows participants to create together, share in open discussions and get feedback in a secure, creative environment. Join painter and MICA art teacher Duane Lutsko to learn

  • How to improve technically
  • The broader sense of painting’s many expressive possibilities
  • The principles of perception
  • The concept of shape-mapping which promotes a "seeing" versus "knowing" approach
  • How to develop an effective portfolio
  • The power of identity and cohesion
  • Learn to say "No": The art of self editing

Designed for middle and high school students as well as adults, this workshop is open to all interested in preparing for portfolio review and to all levels of ability, from novice to accomplished.

Price includes 4 Sessions, from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM, on the following dates:

How can I save money on the workshop?

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Attendees must be 14 years or older to attend this event.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

We are located at Rivers 95 Business park and there is plenty of free parking available! It is an on-site, off-street shared parking lot.

What can I bring into the event?

Participants are required to provide their own materials. The instructor will provide a detailed materials list.

What's the refund policy?

We offer full refunds, less processing fee, for any refund requests received more than one week in advance of the workshop start date. To request a refund for a workshop, please email info@therootstudio.org.

If you want to transfer your workshop spot to another person, please email info@therootstudio.org with the person's name, workshop name and your eventbrite confirmation number. You will need to work out the money with the person to whom you are transferring the workshop.

No refunds are offered for same-day (24 hours before workshop starts) cancellations on the part of the attendee or any workshops that are already in progress. There are no make-ups or deferments for missed workshops.

Root Studio reserves the right to cancel or reschedule workshops at our discretion. Registrants will be given the option of participating on the new date, receiving a studio credit or receiving a full refund. Communication for cancelled and rescheduled workshops is sent via email.
