**Doors open at 7:30 pm. Show begins at 8:00 pm. Park at Heald and Chiampa. Handicapped accessible.**
Join us in this beautiful, unique setting for an up-close and personal concert with the gorgeous sounds of legendary singer/songwriter Willy Porter and music partner Carmen Nickerson. We are thrilled to feature these world class musicians/humanity-conscious humans at the Sumner House, where great music and spirits linger. Wisconsin's Willy Porter has been a favorite of many in our town and area for years!
The historic Sumner House is a beautiful building that was part of the original Underground Railroad. If you ask, we can show you the closet that was part of that important history! We aim to have one of the town history buffs explain the Sumner House role that evening. The Sumner House building is now Heald and Chiampa Funeral Home on the Shrewsbury town common, to the left of the fire station. The beauty and peace in this place make for an exceptional, delightful experience. There is plenty of parking at Heald and Chiampa Funeral Home, 5 Church Road, Shrewsbury, including handicapped parking and access.
Willy has been a guest on Shrewsbury Media Connection's Mostly Rock 'n Roll TV program several times and Carmen has joined him as well on our show. Two of Willy's programs on MRR have won national awards.

- From Willy's team: "Guitarist and singer/songwriter Willy Porter joins forces with vocalist and Milwaukee native Carmen Nickerson to form Porter Nickerson—two unique artists, one unforgettable sound. Porter has been turning first time listeners into die-hard fans for more than two decades. His blistering guitar playing, rich songwriting, and warm, playful performance style make him a one-man triple threat. Nickerson is an ideal match. Her vocals add lush harmonies to Porter’s songs, making them feel both fresh and timeless. The pair collaborated on the 2013 EP Cheeseburgers and Gasoline and again on Porter’s 2015 record Human Kindness. In 2016 the duo performed as the featured musical guests on NPR’s A Prairie Home Companion. Porter Nickerson are excited to bring listeners the new disc, Bonfire to Ash, their first album of original co-writes produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Ben Wisch (Marc Cohn, Jonatha Brooke) slated for release November 2016. Together these highly accomplished artists take audiences on a unique musical ride full of heart, grit, energy, and fun that showcases the best of what live music has to offer."
