The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (Port Authority) invite you to participate in a Port Environmental Listening Session. The objective of the Listening Session is to solicit input from members of the public and all port industry, environmental and community partners to help form the latest framework of a collaborative plan to reduce port related air emissions and improve air quality for port workers and residents who live nearby.
The Listening Session will provide an overview of the current state of the Port of New York and New Jersey, its environmental initiatives, successes and challenges encountered to date. Participants will have an opportunity to provide input on the issues and next steps and how we can achieve the common goal of working toward improved air quality throughout the region. Confirmed participants will receive advanced information on specific areas of interest you will be asked to provide feedback on.
Collaboration is key for success. You are strongly encouraged to participate and welcome to share this invitation with your colleagues, partners and constituents. Please RSVP at portenvironmentallisteningsession.eventbrite.com or by calling Catherine Massab at 212-435-4214 no later than Wednesday, November 30, 2016. Should attendance on December 8th exceed the safe capacity of the room, priority will be given to those that have reserved in advance. All comments will be recorded to generate an accurate record of the proceedings, which will be made available upon request. Members of the press may also attend.
