About this event
This highly anticipated event occurs annually and features various everyday people in the community- as well as community leaders. This event brings a good dose of fun and positivity every year through fashion and music while uniting the community to raise scholarship funds for graduating high school seniors. This event raises funds for the Lillie Ann Heggins Scholarship Fund and this is year 10 of our efforts. The last event was held in January of 2020 and then the pandemic happened. This is the first show since then. Check out the recap feature from our last show below.
Lillie Ann Heggins was a retired School teacher of 40 years in New Hanover County Schools and a huge advocate for kids and teachers statewide and nationally with her works in NCAE. She was the mother of On-Air Radio Personality, DJ, and Community leader, Brandon "Bigg B" Hickman. Team Hickman, known as Brandon and his wife Suprena Hickman(Registered Nurse and Visionary), have worked tirelessly annually preparing this great event that brings many to the city. They have both taught school and are advocates of educating and supporting the youth. Together, they birthed Better Is Possible CDC, Inc- which is a 501c3 nonprofit organization designed to ultimately create better homes, better neighborhoods, and a better city. With this event, they are able to unite the community to highlight fashion locally as well as national brands. The event, normally held in January annually, is a special Juneteenth Garden theme this year commemorating its 10th year operating and impacting the youth and community. This event will be outdoors, but attendees will be covered and not exposed to rain if it occurs during the show. Come out and wear your best outdoor Summer fashions and celebrate with us. Make sure you get your tickets early as this event sells out every year.
