Description
Porkapalooza 2019 will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 6:30pm-9:30pm at The Root Cellar in Chapel Hill.
This eagerly anticipated porktastic farm dinner will offer 8 small plate courses and feature locally raised pork from Burnette Ranch in Pittsboro as well as beers from Mason Jar Lager Co. in Fuquay-Varina. This is the 8th anniversary of what has become one of the signature food events in North Carolina.
Porkapalooza diners can expect a variety of creative pork-centric dishes including:
- Twice fried ribs with sweet and spicy apricot glaze
- Bacon-wrapped confit pork tenderloin skewers with bourbon soaked figs
- Asian 5-spice pork belly with pickled carrots and radish, jalapenos and hoisin sauce on bib lettuce wraps
- Southern BBQ egg rolls with sweet and sticky BBQ pork, red onions, collards, and bread and butter pickles, served with a southern coleslaw dip
- Twisted Deviled Eggs: with deviled ham and deviled egg salad, topped with sweet heat potato chips
- Cornmeal-crusted pork schnitzel with fennel, apple and red onion salad, served with honey mustard vinaigrette
- Chile-braised pork cheek tostadas, with fried sweet plantains, spicy pumpkin puree, cilantro, and micro greens
- House-made corn dogs with maple whipped butter
- PLUS: house-made pork rinds and several suckling pigs
Tickets are $69 and include all food, drink and fun but do not include gratuity or fees. We also offer a limited number of dinner only (no alcohol) tickets for $50…perfect for underage members of your family or designated drivers.
