Clean Water for North Carolina & ECO

Clean Water for North Carolina is a statewide nonprofit organization promoting clean, safe water and empowered, just communities through education, advocacy, community organizing and technical assistance. Our long-term focus on protecting NC's rural well users and groundwater led us to early involvement and organizing regarding the use of "fracking" for natural gas in NC and community impacts. We have offices in Asheville and Durham.

For 25 years, ECO has been working to preserve the natural heritage of  Henderson County and the mountain region as an effective voice for the environment. Our four main focus areas- water quality, green energy and sustainability, green infrastructure, and recycling- enable ECO supporters and volunteers to extend this voice throughout our communities with outreach, monitoring, and community events. ECO promotes dialogue about the impacts of NC natural gas development in Henderson County.
