About this event
Websters defines a Friend as “one connected to another by affection or esteem.” We, however, define a Friend as “You.”
Your friendship can make a huge difference in someones life.
For more than 50 years, Compeer has shown how the simple power of friendship can change thousands of lives. Here on the Gulf Coast, Compeer successfully uses this healing power to connect children and adults diagnosed with mental illness with caring volunteers to greatly enhance their quality of life.
We are delighted that Olympic swim medalist and mental health advocate Allison Schmitt will be our guest speaker.
A 10-time Olympic medalist, four-time Olympian and Captain of the 2020 USA Olympic Swimming Team, Allison is one of the most decorated American athletes of all-time. Out of the pool, she is an avid mental health advocate, speaking about her personal struggles with depression and her family’s tragedy of losing a loved one to suicide. Come hear her passion to help those battling mental health issues.
We will also be honoring Faith Goldman, long-time Compeer supporter and Mental Health Advocate.
Thousands of local residents suffer from mental health challenges and their need for a caring Compeer friend is more important than ever! With your support, Compeer will help many on the road to wellness and recovery.
Help us pool our strengths, and find a match for every friend.
