Event description

Description

This one day resilience workshop will create a space for holistically envisioning a more resilient and sustainable Ponderosa Mobile Home Park that maintains affordability. The three key areas we will be exploring include land 1) ownership options and housing affordability; 2) technical and innovation infrastructure and housing feasibility; and 3) social challenges and assets of the mobile home park community.

Objectives for this engagement include:

  1. To arrive at consensus on the resilience values for the site (e.g., points of agreement, top five)

  2. To explore ways to maintain the affordability of Ponderosa and avoid displacement of residents;

  3. To generate a full understanding of the community’s challenges and opportunities as well as the community’s aspirations and needs;

  4. Explore key areas of interest (see below) to understand site possibilities and constraints;

  5. Create possible scenarios for an infrastructure and ownership approach that promotes resilience, affordability and carbon neutrality.

  6. Expand the City’s network of experts who can help address challenges with the site.

  7. Inform the design approach to the site.

  8. Map social assets of the community and develop key elements of an asset strategy

After you RSVP, an email will be sent with the location.
