Keynote Speaker

Tristan Taormino

Tristan Taormino® is an award-winning author, sex educator, speaker, and fimmaker. She is editor of 25 anthologies and the author of eight books on sex and relationships including Opening Up: A Guide to Creating and Sustaining Open Relationships. She’s written for a multitude of publications from Yale Journal of Law and Feminism to Penthouse. Tristan conducted original research and extensive interviews of people in non-monogamous relationships for her book Opening Up, which was published in 2008. She has presented her research, lectured about non-monogamy, and taught workshops on open relationships at colleges and universities, conferences, and other venues all over North America. She also created the website OpeningUp.net, which features books, organizations, and resources on non-monogamy including The Open List, a list of professionals who are experienced and knowledgeable about alternative sexuality and lifestyles, including open relationships, polyamory, and non-monogamy. She is the host of Sex Out Loud®, a weekly radio show on the VoiceAmerica Talk Radio Network.

Joe Kort PhD, LMSW

Dr. Joe Kort is a leading expert on sex and relationships. He specializes in Out-of-Control Sexual Behaviors, Relationship Problems and Marital Conflict, Sex Therapy, and Sexual Identity Concerns, Depression, Anxiety and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. His practice is located in Royal Oak, Michigan but he welcomes clients from all over the Metro Detroit area. Dr. Kort is also available for long-distance supervision and consultation.


Saturday Afternoon Featured Speaker

James Wadley PhD, LPC

Dr. James Wadley is Associate Professor and Director of the Master of Human Services program at The Lincoln University. As a scholar-practitioner, he is a licensed professional counselor and maintains a private practice in the States of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

He is the founding editor of the scholarly, interdisciplinary journal, the Journal of Black Sexuality and Relationships (University of Nebraska Press). He is also the founder and Principal of the Association of Black Sexologists and Clinicians and his professional background in human sexuality education and educational leadership has enabled him to galvanize scholars and practitioners in the field of sexology across the world.

His research and publication interests include sexual decision making among young adults, masculinity development and conceptions of fatherhood by non-custodial fathers, and HIV/AIDS prevention. He has written undergraduate and graduate courses and recently authored twenty-two courses for the Master of Science in Counseling program for The Lincoln University (PA). In 2015, Dr. Wadley earned his NBCC-International Mental Health Facilitator certification after spending time with Rwandan therapists discussing the impact of genocide and trauma in the early 1990’s.

Dr. Wadley received his Doctorate of Philosophy degree in Education from the University of Pennsylvania with a concentration in Educational Leadership and Human Sexuality Education. He earned a Master of Science in Education degree in School Psychology from the University of Kentucky after completing his B.A. in Psychology from Hampton University. Finally, he holds a clinical postgraduate certificate from Thomas Jefferson University/Council for Relationships in Philadelphia and several other state certifications that have catapulted him to be one of the nation’s best marriage, family, and sexuality clinicians.



Program Approved: This program meets the requirements of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) and is approved for 15 AASECT CE Credits. These CE Credits may be applied toward AASECT certification and renewal of certification
