Description

At this workshop, we’ll learn how to care for the colorful, easy perennial plants serving pollinating insects and birds through the seasons in a newly installed flower garden. We’ll look at the needs, growth habits, ecological roles, and human uses of the garden’s 15 different species of perennials, discuss how they were chosen, and come away knowing how to manage them hands-on. Each attendee will receive a variety of perennial seedlings to plant in their community gardens, while supplies last.

This workshop is offered as part of the Community Parks Initiative (CPI), a collaboration of Friends of the High Line with GreenThumb. Friends of the High Line is supporting 12 GreenThumb gardens in the Melrose area of the South Bronx through CPI.

Light refreshments will be served at 9:30 a.m.
