Description

The Athenæum and The Public's Radio host a lively discussion on politics and the media in the 2020 Presidential Election, moderated by political reporter Ian Donnis. Panelists include Gabriela Domenzain, Steve Frias, and Scott MacKay. The program will be recorded for future broadcast.

Gabriela Domenzain, the former head of the Latino Policy Institute at Roger Williams University, was deputy campaign manager for Maryland Democrat Martin O’Malley’s Democratic presidential campaign in 2015 and 2016. Gabi was the principal spokeswoman on immigration and the Latino vote for President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign.

Steve Frias is the national committeeman for the Rhode Island Republican Party. He has twice run for state rep in Cranston against Democratic House Speaker Nicholas Mattiello. Steve writes a column in the Cranston Herald, he’s a historian and has won the Coolidge Prize for Journalism.

Scott MacKay is the political analyst at The Public’s Radio and was for many years a political reporter at The Providence Journal.
