POLICY AND SYSTEMS CHANGE LEADERSHIP
Wed, Sep 13, 2017, 8:00 AM – Fri, Sep 15, 2017, 5:00 PM EDT
POLICY AND SYSTEMS CHANGE LEADERSHIP (Policy Leadership) provides participants with the essential competencies, tools and strategies to initiate, create, lead, and influence social sector policy and systems change. Policy Leadership is designed for those who have a deep interest beyond their social impact work to influence policy and/or systems change at the intersection of government, private, and not-for-profit sectors.
Policy Leadership provides participants with a framework to explore and analyze the impact, financial model, and innovation leading to the development of a SYSTEMS AND POLICY STRATEGY within the participants respective industry and/or the social sector. Policy Leadership specifically provides participants with the competencies to create and maintain an adaptive and generative orientation to grapple with the complex social realities that challenges our world and how to use policy strategy to create positive systems change.
Participants will strengthen and develop their skills in policy and strategy development, including policy initiation, formulation, implementation and adaption. The social, economic, legal, ethical, and political environments, which influence public policy, planning, evaluation and funding will be explored. Policy Leadership will use real life successful policy and systems policy case-studies for participants to analyze the structural, social, and policy issues and strategies deployed to have a successful policy and systems change policy outcome. Participants will also come away with a full understanding of the roles that the government, private sector, consumers, trade associations and advocacy groups play in setting and pushing policy agendas and examine the intended and unintended effects of these policy and advocacy efforts.
