About this event
Growing evidence regarding persistent disparities in school discipline poses serious implications about the impact of the educational experience for youth. Statewide, Black students in Texas are approximately two times more likely to experience in-school suspensions (I.S.S.), nearly three times more likely to experience out-of-school suspensions (O.S.S) and are admitted to either alternative or juvenile justice education programs at higher rates than white students. Join IUPRA’s moderated panel discussion around this issue with a focus on equity and school- community solutions.
