The aim of the Policies for the Future Dialogue is discuss the evolution of public policies in social and economic sectors, major shifts in global and local policy landscape, the consequences of those shifts and their impact on people.
The Policies for the Future Dialogue aims to discuss challenges of today and tomorrow, including the impacts of NBIC technologies (nanotech, biotech, Information technologies and cognitive sciences) on societies, present policy suggestions and seize opportunities as a result of the global trends.
1. The Circular Economy and the new Industrial Revolution
What it is: A new economic model based on rethinking the entire value chain eco-system for an industrial economy that promotes greater resource productivity aiming to reduce waste and avoid pollution by design or intention. This is contrast to a Linear Economy which is a 'take, make, dispose' model of production.
2. The Technology leapfrog and the UAE unique approach
What it is: The 1st Industrial Revolution mechanized production through steam power. The 2nd created mass production through electricity. The 3rd automated production through electronics and IT. The 4th Industrial Revolution is building on the convergence of NIBC technologies and their exponential growth.
We look forward to a very stimulating dialogue, the first in its kind!
