Description

Hello Colleagues:

You are invited to attend the Seattle Journal for Social Justice's upcoming symposium. The symposium is entitled “Police Brutality: Its Chilling Effect and Solutions”. A crucial issue addressed in society; from contrasting perspectives, within the scope of police brutality. Although divergent sides have limitations, we hope to explore vital concerns and mounting fundamental changes in this developing environment.

“Police Brutality” is a topic addressed throughout the country by many; with various views on what defines such and what population is affected most; and how. Further, it evolves to race, culture, background and socioeconomic status. The special issue gives credence to the existence of discrimination; and a platform for researchers and practitioners to analyze and reveal new developments in depth. Areas of interest for this topic include, but are not limited to:

· Body Camera Efficacy

· De-escalation Training

· Implicit Bias

· Weaponry Militarization
