About this month's poets:

Enid Shomer’s fifth collection of poetry, Shoreless, won Persea Books’ Lexi Rudnitsky’s Editor’s Choice Award and will be published in Fall 2020. Her poems and stories have been published in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, The Paris Review, etc. She is the author of 9 books of poetry and prose, and last year, edited an anthology of erotic poetry by women titled All We Know of Pleasure. She was the editor of the University of Arkansas poetry series for many years, and she received the Lifetime Achievement Award in Writing from the Florida Humanities Council in 2013. She lives in Tampa, Florida.

Christopher Merrill has published six collections of poetry, including Watch Fire, for which he received the Lavan Younger Poets Award from the Academy of American Poets; many edited volumes and books of translations; and five works of nonfiction, among them, Only the Nails Remain: Scenes from the Balkan Wars and Things of the Hidden God: Journey to the Holy Mountain. His latest prose book, The Tree of the Doves: Ceremony, Expedition, War, chronicles travels in Malaysia, China and Mongolia, and the Middle East. As director of the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa, Merrill has conducted cultural diplomacy missions to more than forty countries. He serves on the U.S. National Commission for UNESCO, and in April 2012 President Obama appointed him to the National Council on the Humanities.

Greg Gaul's poems have been published on mainly three worldwide poetry web sites: Poetrysoup.com, Allpoetry.com and Poemhunter.com. His works have won nearly three hundred awards in contests on these sites and have been front page "featured poems" many times. Mr. Gaul writes poetry on many subjects, most prominently - Advocacy, Nature/Science, Seaside, Metaphysical and Light Verse. His personal background includes nearly fifty years in the advertising agency business serving both management and creative roles helping national, international and regional clients in all media. He and his wife are regular "snow birds" to Sarasota from the Philadelphia area staying on Lido Key for a number of years.
