Description

A showcase of poets and writers at Secret Loft

Grab a seat in our comfortable loft and enjoy an evening of poetry, live readings, and all manner of spoken word. Present an original or favorite piece, or relax and be inspired by the other readers.

7:30-8: Open mic sign-up
8-10: Open mic and featured readers

Featured readers:
Buttered Roll (Jason Swartwood) has been published in Breadcrumbs Magazine, Liberate the Verse, The Anthology by JMF Chapbooks LLC, and Mother Water Vol. 1.

Audrey Dimola is a proud Queens, NYC native, poet, performer, curator, and adventurer, as well as Director of Public Programs for Long Island City’s Socrates Sculpture Park. She has performed in venues such as the Brooklyn Museum and the NYC Poetry Festival, and curated for the Queens Museum, LaGuardia Performing Arts Center, and the Latimer House Museum. Her latest book, "WILDLIGHT: Poetry and Prose from Inside the Fire," was self-published in March 2018.

There will be an open mic sign-up sheet by the refreshments. You can present original work or read something that you love that you want other people to hear. Please keep it under 5 minutes. You can sign up a second time after everyone has gone once.
