Poetry Reading and Open Mic

Bring your poems of activism and win a $250 open mic prize judged by featuring poets John Johnson and REIL.
This is a DC Poet Project event; select open mic readers, including the winner, will be invited to compete in the final event for a $1000 book contract. Only DC residents may compete to win at the final event.
This event is produced by Day Eight with the DC Public Library, Anacostia Coordinating Council, and support from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.
The 2021 DC Poet Project series is curated by Regie Cabico, and hosted by Aaron Holmes. The remaining events in the series are:

Featuring poetry of faith, and with featuring poets from the recently published anthology, "Falling Leaves", including Lori Tsang, Jane Schapiro, and Luther Jett.

Featuring Queer poetry and in partnership with Capturing Fire Poetry Festival and featuring poets Marlena Chertok and Malik Thompson.
