Description

The Poetry Moves Youth Sympsium is a one-day event happening this year on November 24th, 2017 at the Clareview Library and Recreation Centre. Costs are $25.00 per student (some scholarships are available for students based on need - email adriana@edmontonpoetryfestival.com for more details).

Throughout the course of the day, students will have a chance to take five workshops with outstanding local poets, including Nasra Adem (former Edmonton Youth Poet Laureate), Mary Pinkoski (former Edmonton Poet Laureate), Norma Dunning (Inuit writer and scholar), LIam Coady (genre-defying poet and actor), and David Van Belle (EPL's current writer in residence). Lunch is provided as well as a noon-hour performance featuring the current Poet Laureate, Ahmed Knowmadic Ali.

We ask that all teachers claim space for their students by October 27th using this Eventbrite page. After this date if we have space left, we will contact you about about slotting in students from your wait list.

We are pleased to offer this festival in collaboration with Edmonton Public Schools, Edmonton Catholic Schools, Edmonton Public Libraries, and the Clareview Recreation Centre.

See you on November 24th!
