Poetry and Prose: Using Works of Art and Music to Inspire Us to Write New Work, with Ravi Shankar

This generative workshop will help us appreciate the connections between visual art, music, and literary production. We'll explore the existing traditions and then embark upon writing new works of poetry and prose inspired by the subject.

Ravi Shankar is an award-winning poet, editor, translator, publisher and professor whose more than 10 books include W.W. Norton's Language for a New Century: Contemporary Poetry from Asia, the Middle East & Beyond and the National Poetry Review Prize winner Deepening Groove. Founding editor of the international online arts journal, Drunken Boat [drunkenboat.com], he teaches with New York Writers Workshop.
