Course Description & Requirements
Volume 15 of CG Jung’s collected work titled, “On The Relation Of Analytical Psychology To Poetry,” discusses the dynamic combination of art and psychology, as well as the process of creation, which cultivates poetry.

Poetry, defined as the language of Symbology, shares the same unique pedigree that is the fundamental language of dreams, dream works, and the unconscious. Within this course, we will investigate how each student finds his or her own symbolic meaning within the broad scope of poetry.

Using Robert Bly’s book on spiritual poetry and delving into the psychological realms of Rumi’s poetry, we will work to define dreams, dream works, and the unconscious, interpret dreams through Symbology and discuss how our unconscious reaches us through slumber.
