Come and hear the next wave of podcast superstars at our first annual Podcast Pitch Night! Featuring an exclusive, special conversation between podcasters extraordinaire... to be announced!

Registration includes:

  • Podcast Pitch and Podcast Talk: 7:00-8:30pm in Theater
  • Podcast Party (food and booze): 8:30-9:30pm in Lounge

PODCAST PITCH:
Five amazing amateur/DIY podcasters will be selected by the Made in NY Media Center by IFP staff to present a five minute-long pitch to a panel of industry judges, and to our live audience.

Jury Prize includes: Platform hosting on Acast (more details to follow); five (5) complimentary mentorship sessions provided by Acast, focused on the development, monetization, and promotion of your podcast; complimentary advertising on Acast (more details to follow); a $500 giftcard for Media Center events and classes; and six (6) months free access to Media Center’s newly launched Podcast Studio.

Audience Choice Award includes: three (3) months free access to Media Center’s newly launched Podcast Studio.

PODCAST TALK:

As the jury deliberates, our evening's host will sit down for a special conversation with a podcast superstar, to chat about all things podcast! Talent to be announced.

PODCAST PARTY:

After our prizes have been handed out, head over to our Lounge for our post-show party, with complimentary drinks and snacks! (Admission free with your event ticket.)

Our Pitch Night Jury:

Kerri Hoffman: CEO, PRX. Kerri Hoffman is the CEO of PRX, an award-winning public media company connecting audio producers with their most engaged, supportive audiences. She played a key role in the building and evolution of PRX, and headed up the launch of Radiotopia, a curated network of extraordinary, cutting-edge podcasts.

Francesco Baschieri: Co-Founder/CEO, Spreaker. Francesco Baschieri is a serial entrepreneur and currently serves as president and CEO of Spreaker Holdings, the company that owns and operates the Spreaker and BlogTalkRadio podcasting platforms. Francesco is also the co-founder and CEO of Spreaker and led it to inception to growth and profitability before combining it with BlogTalkRadio in 2017. Spreaker was awarded the “most promising european startup” award by Microsoft in 2013. Francesco is also a lecturer at the University of Bologna, where he teaches a course in Digital Entrepreneurship. Twitter: @thebask

Caitlin Thompson: US Director of Content, Acast. Caitlin Thompson is the US Director of Content at Acast, a Swedish technology company that works to empower audio content creators by helping them monetize and grow their audiences. She's worked as a development executive at WNYC, in digital and multimedia roles at TIME, The Washington Post, and in public television.
