Poconos Whitewater Dam Release Rafting

Whitewater rafting on the Lehigh River in the Poconos of northeastern Pennsylvania is rafting just the way you want it, with rapids ranging from easy to exhilarating. On special Dam Release events it means even more fun, more rapids and more adventure with the extra water that is released from the dam!
Wether you are rafting to take in the scenery or for the thrills of whitewater, the Lehigh River is the perfect whitewater desitnation in Pennsylvania.
Rafting is fun for the whole family, but participants must meet the minimum age requirements. Choose from our Premier Whitewater Rafting (ages 9+) or our Family-Style Whitewater Rafting (ages 5+).
Rafts can accommodate groups of up to 6 people and will be accompanied by an experience guides in class I-III+ white waters. Bringing a light lunch is recommended, as your adventure will span 5-6 hours total. All necessary equipment is provided to you, and wet suits are available to rent on colder days. On warmer days, a swimsuit or light clothing is recommended, as well as closed-toed shoes for protection.

Premier Whitewater Rafting
Our Premier Whitewater Rafting trips take you trhough class 2-3 rapids in the Lehigh Gorge State park. Extra water from the dam release event makes this trip even more thrilling. You'll spend approximately 3-4 hours on the water, taking in all the excitement and scenery of the Lehigh River! Minimum age 9.
Family-Style Whitewater Rafting
Our Family-Style Whitewater Rafting trip is a fun filled day on the river going through class 1-2 rapids on the Lehigh River. This milder trip is perfect for the whole family and for beginners. You'll spend approximately 2.5-3 hours on the water, take time to swim and splash your way down the Lehigh River's spectacular scenery. Minimum age 5.
Are there minimum age requirements to enter the event?
You have two ticket options; Premier Whitewater Rafting which has a minimum age requirement of 9 or the Family-Style Whitewater Rafting which has a minimum age requirement of 5.
What can I bring into the event?
Please wear appropriate clothing and shoes. This includes bathing suit, shorts, t-shirt or other water appropriate clothiing. Avoid wearing cotton. Appropriate footwear includes old sneakers (that you don't mind getting wet) or water shoes. Do NOT wear flip flops, loose sandals, or Crocs. If you wear glasses or sunglasses use eye glass straps so they stay placed securely on your head.
We recommend leaving all valuables, dry clothes & towels (to change into after your trip) and cell phones in your vehicle. Keys can be safely stored in the Adventure Center store prior to departing on your trip.
You can capture great adventure photos on your trip if you choose to bring a waterproof camera or waterproof cell phone case. But remember, any items lost in the river will most likely become fish food. We are not responsible for lost items.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Yes, please bring your ticket to the check in area for the event. You can also present a digital ticket on your mobile device (however we recommend leaving your phone in the car so you don't loose it in the water).
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
Yes, but you will need to provide the name of the person that purchased the ticket so we can verify your trip time at check in.
