Project Managers have to pivot from their traditional project management role and identify themselves more as a digital leaders to drive their organization’s digital initiative. The question is how? How do PMs, in such a context, support continuous change in innovation and organizational culture and how does the millennial generation see all this?

The PM is firstly seen as a numbers person; nevertheless, we want to raise awareness that adding a human touch to our daily activity may increase the chances of success in our project. Talking both from a customer and team perspective, establishing a connection might prove to be more valuable than following a plan. We all want motivated teams in our projects, but can we really have that by only talking about numbers? Can empathy, balanced with other technical and soft skills, separate mere-successful project managers from the truly phenomenal and sought-after project managers?

About the speakers:

Ana Trișcă has been working in the IT field for over 10 years now, having acquired an extended professional experience - from Web Application Developer and Trainer, to Systems Engineer, Tech Lead and Cloud Presales which has led up to her latest role as Project Manager in Accesa. Besides having worked with diverse and dispersed teams throughout US, EMEA and Asia, she is also a big fan of German speaking-customers, Microsoft technologies and Agile methodologies. Ana is a Millennial in every sense of the word and Change is the only Constant she knows.

Claudiu Abrudan has started coordinating projects in various areas five years ago, mainly in optimization of production and manufacturing. He then transitioned to the IT industry and has managed multiple projects for the past two years. Most recently, he has been focusing on developing and implementing digitalization solutions for Industry 4.0 customers.

Ioana Talău is currently a Project Manager in Accesa, with more than 11 years of experience in the IT industry having started as Software Developer, Team Leader and Project Coordinator. As a people oriented person with interests in process improvement strategies, Ioana is also a strong supporter of Agile methodologies.

Daniel Lăcătuș has a strong technical management background and experience in the IT industry since 2006 and he is currently working in Accesa as Project Manager. With an Agile Mindset, he is constantly looking for a challenge, while bringing the best in the people he is working with. Daniel’s article on “Transitioning from Software Development to Project Management” was featured in Today Software Magazine and won the Best Article Award at IT Days in 2017.

Bogdan Muresan – I am one of the lucky people to do what they love to do, to fuel my passion for technology. Slowly I moved from building things and discovering new technical challenges by myself, to build teams and work with them to do this together. And more interesting I discovered a real sense of personal accomplishment by sharing what I know with the others. Writing articles, speaking at events, mentoring are things which I never thought I would love to do, but definitely are completing my passion for technology. Currently I am a Senior Director of Engineering for 3Pillar Global being responsible for Engineering operations for 3PillarGlobal Romania, but all the experience I gained, the roles which I needed to fill over time are just a consequence (even a bonus) of what I like to do.
