Strategically Integrating Agile & the PMBOK® Guide

Where: Springfield Country Club, Springfield, PA

Please join us for a PMI Delaware Valley Chapter Professional Development Day

Speaker: John G. Stenbeck, PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, CSP, Founder of GR8PM, Inc.

In October 2017 PMI validated that baseline definition of being a serious PM practitioner had been altered by releasing the PMBOK® Guide Sixth Edition in English and 11 other languages simultaneously – a feat that had never been done before! It was co-released with the Agile Practice Guide confirming the next major trend that will impact your career is Enterprise Agility!

Unless you’ve been living in a cave, it is impossible to miss that stakeholder expectations, driven by Google, Amazon and Facebook, are getting more demanding! That situation has thrust Agile project management into the spotlight… and more specifically Hybrid project management to enable Enterprise Agility.

Government demand is no different. President Trump signed the $700 billion 2018 National Defense Authorization Act that includes new provisions within Title VIII, Subtitle H, stating (SEC. 873) that Pilot Programs are to Use Agile or Iterative Development Methods and (SEC. 874) to use Software Development Agile Best Practices to ensure there is a rethinking of the traditional processes reflecting commercial agile development trends.

The PDD will be a reality-based, technically sophisticated look at the future for professionals that want information distilled down to vital core concepts, an opportunity to apply key tools to their specific environment, and the formula to harness game-changing “power tools” to accelerate their career!

Over the last five years John Stenbeck has become one of the most influential voices in this critical area earning him the unofficial title, “Godfather of Agile in a Traditional World.” The information in this presentation is rigorous, concise and gets to the point with focused answers to your challenges. It is designed to be applied in your environment... and accelerate your career!

Who should attend?
This experience will provide great value for Executives responsible for enterprise agility, PMO leaders and others who support enterprise execution, and serious PM practitioners at all levels of experience who want to drive their career potential higher. It will be especially powerful for PMPs who are skeptical about Agile but open-minded about leveraging Lean principles to ensure better outcomes.

Course Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Evaluate IF, when and how to use Agile and Lean principles on specific projects
  • Articulate HOW to integrate key principles to enable enterprise agility
  • Influence Senior Leaders as they translate PMBOK-ese and Agile-ese into Executive-speak
  • Demonstrate the core building blocks of an Agile system tailored to their organization
