Take the opportunity to experience two courses of your choice at our Year 10 Taster Day!

Due to popular demand, you'll notice some of our Year 10 Taster sessions are fully booked already. However we've now opened up our Year 9 Taster Day to Year 10s as well so if your taster session choice is showing as sold out, please click here to book onto our Year 9 Taster Day which takes place on Monday 10th July.

Please read the instructions below carefully, as any student attending the Year 10 Taster Day is required to complete 1) a school-authorisation absence form and 2) obtain parent/carer consent.

The Taster Day is from 9:00am - 3:15pm, with the opportunity to book one subject in the morning session and another subject for the afternoon session.

Students must partake in both a morning and afternoon session. As agreed with your school on the school-authorisation form, students are expected to stay for the full Taster Day.

You'll be able to get a taste of what student life is like at Plumpton College and this day will introduce you to the college with the chance to try different two courses you're considering studying with us in September 2024.

You'll learn about what's involved in completing the course and the split between academic work and the development of technical skills. It'll be a great chance to meet tutors and other prospective students.

Numbers are limited for each session, so please research the courses you're interested in carefully before booking your place as these can't be changed before the event!

Arrival: 8:45 to 9:00am
Welcome session: 9:00 - 9:15am
Morning sessions will run 9.15 -11:45am
Lunch break: 11:45am - 12:30pm
Afternoon registration: 12:30 - 12:45pm
Afternoon sessions will run 12:45 - 3:15pm
Students to return to pick up point 3:15 - 3:30pm
Depart 3:30pm

Parent/ Carer consent

Ensure parent/carer has consented for the Year 10 student to attend the day.
There will be terms and conditions to agree to when completing the application form when booking your place for the Year 10 Taster Day.

Authorisation of school absence

Download the school-authorisation absence form for the Year 10 student to take into their school to obtain permission to attend the Year 10 Taster Day.
The Year 10 student must bring the completed school-authorisation form (linked below) with them on the day.

Travelling by car

Drop off time from 8:45am - 9:00am
Collection time from 3:30pm - 3:45pm onwards

Free bus shuttle service - to and from Lewes/ Hassocks train station

To book this service, there will be an add-on option for both buses when you book your order. You will need to book the morning and afternoon bus if you intend to travel using service. Numbers are limited.

Morning bus will leave at 8:15am from Lewes/ Hassocks train station to arrive at 8:45am to Plumpton College
Afternoon bus will depart at 3:30pm from Plumpton College to arrive at 4:00pm to Lewes/ Hassocks train station

Frequently asked questions

Once you've booked your ticket, you will receive a confirmation from us via Eventbrite - please check your junk mail if this has not been received within 24 hours.
Morning and afternoon sessions for each subject area will be the same. To ensure as many students can experience different subject areas, students need to book two different sessions over the day.
Numbers are limited for each session, so booking early is advised and places will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
The closing date for booking Taster Day sessions is Friday 30th June, 5:00pm.
Following the closing date, you will receive information on attending from us via Eventbrite.
Please note, we are unable to provide any individual 1-2-1 support on the day.
