About this event

PLR Presents...an in person run & brunch with discussion...

Run: Join PLR Founder Filsan, for a 5km run/walk, followed with an outdoor socially distanced picnic style brunch.

Keep in mind... we meet you exactly where you’re at (no need to be a pro runner) — come as you are, because that’s already perfect.

Discussion: Talking about the harm of Weight Stigma & Fatphobia in the Running World

Unpacking these ideologies,

  • First, identifying their presence within us / our communities,
  • Second, discovering where and how we learned and normalized them,
  • Third, acknowledging the deep, often unrecognized trauma they have inflicted.

The goal is to provide tools to create more welcoming running spaces for all Bodies.

  • A curated reading list & questions to support ongoing learning

Organizer of PLR Vancouver Presents: Running Beyond Body Positivity

Project Love Run aims at offering women a safe space to talk about matters of the heart. A monthly run-to-brunch, that offers a space for women to run and share stories/advice, listen and learn from each other. Providing a setting for women to meet women who they can connect with and relate to, sharing stories and running as common ground. The project combines short and sweet runs, followed by brunch at healthy eateries in the city.

Building and forming healthy habits, encouraging physical activity (particularly running) as a means to overcome life stresses related to romance/heartache, body image insecurities and everyday life anxieties. Women bonding and making new friends. Discovering their self-worth and finding love within
