PLOT and Mió have worked together for five years, and this October, we join forces for Crossroads: an evening looking at the present uncertainties of coffee and the possibilities for what comes next.
The event begins with Ana (Mió’s Partner and Commercial Director) and Matthew (PLOT’s Co-Founder and Head of Coffee) in conversation about the origins of the partnership and the values that have shaped it. Ana will then present a new talk exploring what “blending” means at the farm level, and how that concept diverges entirely from the way blends are typically understood and valued once coffee reaches the roasting stage.
From Brazil, Dr Lucas Louzada (Mió’s Operations Director) will connect remotely to share data from post-harvest research projects developed in response to climate collapse. His work examines the role of fermentation protocols as tools for resilience, combining rigorous science with practical application on the farm.
The evening concludes with the first open cupping of Mió’s new harvest: a chance to taste the results of the season’s experiments and to discuss them together.
