Description

What's Ploggercise?

It's a combination of plogging (jogging and picking up trash, brought to us by the Swedes), and exercise. in Let's workout and clean up one street along the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway. You might do something like this workout: you jog down and back once, then do walking lunges to pick up some trash. Then you do a plank. Skip down, sprint/walk back, then do walking squats, picking up trash. Run/walk one lap, then do a single leg balance, picking something up.

Bring your kids! Teach them the value of activity and cleaning up our greenway at the same time! Garbage bags and gloves will be provided.

SUPPORTING BROOKLYN GREENWAY INITIATIVE

This event is led by Annette Lang: Annette's been working in fitness....forever! She's done sales, management, education and personal training. I was the first Program Director for Equinox Fitness Training Institute, educating Personal Trainers. She was Program Director for Reebok University Master Trainer Team for Personal Trainer education. She has a Master Degree in Health Education, teaches workshops for Personal Trainers, and is a private Personal Trainer in NY city. She loves to help people become more active, and is thrilled to be able to clean up the Brooklyn Greenway at the same time!

Brooklyn Greenway Initiative (BGI) is the non-profit organization committed to the development, establishment and long-term stewardship of the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway. When complete, this 14-mile landscaped route for pedestrians and cyclists will connect neighborhood parks and open spaces from Greenpoint to Bay Ridge.
