Event description

Description

In celebration of our 40th Anniversary, PLEN is highlighting the impact we’ve made as we continue to break down barriers for future women policy leaders. The 40th Anniversary Leadership Connection series will bring our current and future leaders together in one room to discuss our country’s most pressing policy issues. Through these discussions, we’ll look back at the progress that we have made and look forward to the work that still needs to be done.

While 2019 marks the 10-year anniversary of the signing of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, the fight for women’s equal pay for equal work began long before this act, and continues to today. In the final panel of the Leadership Connection Series, we’ll revisit policy milestones on the road to equal pay, leaders of the fight, and the road we still must travel in order to close the gender pay gap.

Speakers:

Liz Albertine, Legislative Director, Office of Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro
Cristina Antelo, Founder and CEO, Ferox Strategies
Joi Chaney, Chief of Staff, Office of Senator Kirsten Gillibrand
Megan Malone, Senior Director, Visa

The panel discussion will start at 4:30 and conclude at 6:00 pm, followed by a networking reception with light fare.

We have designed this event to fully comply with US Senate Rule 35.1(d)(1), US House Ethics Manual pp. 41-47, and the U.S. Executive Branch Gift Rules regarding the “widely attended event” exception to the gift rules.
