Join Brooklyn Navy Yard Visiting Artist, Janice McDonnell, will lead a plein-air meet up session. Participants will take advantage of an exciting opportunity to paint outdoors in the Yard from a vantage point with limited public access, on the rooftop of large industrial building. Artists will have views of Manhattan, the East River, two bridges and the sprawling 300 acre Navy Yard to choose from. This is not class, there is no instruction, it's a meet up of plein-air painters with some experience and their own equipment, easels and supplies. More info:
- Meet-up is limited to 12 participants with a minimum of 4 required
- Participants should meet in the lobby of BLDG 92, the Yard’s exhibition and visitor center, promptly at 10am. Directions, here. A shuttle will transport painters and their materials to the site and do a return trip at 1pm.
- All participants will be required to climb two flights of stairs.
- The site has no food options. Bottled water will be provided.
In case of inclement weather, the meet-up will be canceled with 24 hours notice and participants will receive refunds
