Register to paint plein air style in Detroit's Capitol Park on June 12th. Artists compete for $1,800 in total prize money!

BRING YOUR MATERIALS & SIGN IN AT 11AM
Check-in time is at 11am June 12th, 2021 at the tent in Capitol Park {rain date tbd}. Look for the tent & the sign. You must bring all your own materials, paper, canvas, easel, paints, pencils, chair, etc., everything you need to do your work. We will stamp and label the back of your surface. In order to be included in the scoring, you must have the stamp and label on the back of your piece {label must be filled out}. This is to ensure that the work being scored has actually been completed on-site that same day. Work must reflect the immediate area in Detroit, Capitol Park, and the few blocks within that area. If you work quickly, you may have a second surface stamped after completing and returning the first work to the tent.
BRING YOUR FINISHED WORK BACK TO THE TENT BY 3PM
Work must arrive no later than 3pm to be included in the scoring. You can also bring them earlier, whenever you finish. We will be laying them out on the tables for the scoring. This will, hopefully, only take an hour. We encourage you to explore the beautiful downtown area while you wait. We will announce winners at 4pm, or a little later if scoring is delayed. First place $1,000, Second Place $500, Third Place $300.
RETURN TO THE TENT BY 4PM FOR AWARD ANNOUNCEMENTS
Winners will be announced at 4pm, or a little later, back at the tent.
