Event description

One 16x20 canvas will be provided per ticket, Artists are encouraged to bring their own easels, paint, brushes, and canvases. A limited number of painting materials will be available, please contact benloomis@pattersonschoolfoundation.org to reserve or with any questions.

Joseph Bigley has been plein air painting for 18 years. He holds an M.F.A from Alfred University, and currently teaches at Spelman College in Atlanta. Joseph is a mixed media artist focused on painting, and sculpture, with exhibits across the US and internationally. He received his BFA and later taught at Appalachian State University, and considers the area home.

His approach to creative expression relies on art's ability to challenge how people view the world, and their own interaction with it, using his work to make powerful social commentary and address various facets of the human condition. We apply these principles to the Incubator Farm program at Patterson, and seek to make deep structural change through a community center based around regenerative farming and traditional arts. Check out all of the other workshops we have for this season at http://pattersonschoolfoundation.org/if/courses.

More of his work can be found at http://www.joebigley.com. Thanks, and see you soon!
