Event description

Description

This Plein Air Event includes a paint-out, exhibition, juried competition and sale. It's open to all artists from beginner to professional. The 3-day event will be held in conjunction with the 31st Annual Historic Cane Hill Music Festival amid a picturesque Ozark Mountain setting featuring many 19th century historic properties, located about 20 miles west of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Participants may paint amid festival-goers on the site of the Historic Cane Hill College building (1886), or in the solitude of numerous quiet settings in and around the community. Choose from waterfalls, mountain vistas, historic buildings, creeks, ponds, and more. All painting/drawing media is welcome. A "Quick-Draw" competition is likely to be announced as part of the weekend event.

A wide variety of food (including a world-class country breakfast) will be available for purchase on the festival grounds on Saturday and Sunday. Artist's may want to find time to enjoy some of the remarkable musical artists which will be performing throughout the weekend. Expect to hear bluegrass, folk, blues and rock.

Event Headquarters will be the historic A.R. Carroll building (built in 1900) adjacent to the Historic Cane Hill Museum. Artists should check in at headquarters upon their initial arrival. Check-in will begin at 7:00am Friday September 15, but artists may arrive at any time during the 3-day event.
