Plein Air Painting Festival
Event Information
About this event
Beginning April 18, a group of visiting artists return to Kern County to capture the unique offerings of our landscape. During the week, artists will travel across the county, creating landscape paintings that capture the beauty of our region from the wildflowers of Tejon and winding outcropping of the Kern River Valley to the golden hues of Red Rock Canyon.
Throughout the festival, the Arts Council of Kern offers the public several opportunities to engage with our Plein Air Painting artists. Visitors can try their hand painting in workshops hosted by Durre Waseem, Ariah Boyle and Mark Monsarrat, or join us in conversation during a landscape painting panel discussion moderated by local plein air painter, David Gordon.
The week's events culminate on Sunday, April 24th during our Spring Soiree held at the Gardens at Monji, where visitors can purchase their favorite works of art in between trips to the open bar.
Join us in celebrating the creative spirit of Kern County.
Both event tickets and sponsorship opportunites are available.
**Please note that events are held at different days, times and locations. All of this information can be found in the description for each ticket.
