CITY Center for Collaborative Learning hosts this week-long PLC Summer Institute in Tucson, AZ every year in June. In 2017 the dates are June 12-16.
The PLC Summer Institute is an immersive, hands-on professional development experience. Participants develop the habits and skills to facilitate and coach a professional learning community based on the SRI critical friendship model. The SRI critical friendship model for professional learning communities can lead to transformational growth for the adult participants and have profound impact on student learning and school culture.
This institute is for teacher-leaders who are interested in facilitating a professional learning community of peers in their school or district and principals and other school leaders who want to hone their facilitative leadership skills and lead their schools and districts as professional learning communities.
This 5-day PLC Institute begins on Monday, June 12th in downtown Tucson, AZ. The goals for the Institute are threefold: (1) participants will experience SRI Critical Friendship in a professional learning community that we create together; (2) participants will understand how SRI Critical Friendship leads to deeper learning among teachers and their students; and (3) participants will learn the concepts, habits, tools, and skills needed to facilitate a professional learning community using the SRI Critical Friendship model in their own school settings.
