Event description
Learn to be intentional with point of view choices, and to use POV to understand your characters' motivations and conflicts.

About this Event

Call it the big decision.

Point of view affects voice. It affects how we see the story and the world of that story. It offers a variety of surprises and opportunities that will make your story stronger. As the director of your story, you should choose point of view with intention.

In this webinar, Sarah Aronson will help you explore those choices. She will start with definitions and limitations of each point of view and then delve deeper. She will offer anecdote and exercises to show you how to use point of view to help you understand your characters' inner conflicts and motivation as well as guide your revision.

A recording will be sent out the next business day for those unable to attend live - or for those who want to watch again!

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Sarah Aronson began writing for kids and teens when someone in an exercise class dared her to try. Since then, she has earned an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts, and published three novels: Head Case, Beyond Lucky, and Believe. Her most recent books are part of a new young MG series called The Wish List (Scholastic, 2017-2018). In Spring 2019, Beach Lane Books published her first picture book biography, Just Like Rube Goldberg. When Sarah is not writing or reading (or cooking or riding her bike), she is talking to readers about creativity, writing, social action, and of course, sparkle power! .She loves sports. She overuses exclamation points. When she’s excited, she talks with her hands. Like tips? Sign up for her weekly newsletter on the writing process at www.saraharonson.com.
