Joe Wald, executive director for the Greater Lansing Food Bank, will share his experience of partnering and merging with other organizations, challenges faced, and effects on public relations and fundraising.
Joe Wald is the executive director for the Greater Lansing Food Bank and a professor at the MSU Department of Public Relations and Advertising. Previously, Wald served as an administrator and VP of community relations at Sparrow Hospital and the Sparrow Health System and as president of the Sparrow Foundation. Additionally he was president of the for-profit subsidiary, Sparrow Development, Inc., and Sparrow Home Care. Wald's responsibilities included executive oversight of the 1700 member volunteer organization, all media relations and public policy, customer service, food services, event planning, community health outreach and education and some clinical service oversight. Prior to joining Sparrow, Wald was the owner and operator of a group of precision manufacturing companies in Cincinnati, Ohio.
