Description

Learn to play soccer like a B.O.S.S. at the Basics Of Spanish Soccer Camp 2017!

Our camp is open to all girls and boys ages 4-11 (birth years 2006-2012). No previous soccer experience is required!

The Spanish style of soccer development is designed around building very strong technical skills and honing those skills in small-sided games such as 1v1, 2v1, 4v4, 5v3, and so on. Small-sided games create an environment where children can experiment with ball control, space, and pressure...the key elements to developing a good "soccer mind". The B.O.S.S. Soccer Camp will strip down the process of learning how to play soccer to very simple building blocks that your child can understand and repeat at home and at the field...wherever they enjoy playing the game. This simplicity is what makes playing soccer enjoyable for our young players, and fosters their love for the sport.

We will have parental supervision every day at the field so you can feel comfortable dropping off your child in the morning and returning to pick them up in the afternoon. We will also have a lunch break during each session.

What to bring:

Each child is REQUIRED to bring/wear the following items to the B.O.S.S. camp each day:

  1. Comfortable clothing such as a t-shirt and shorts
  2. Shin-guards
  3. Soccer shoes with or without cleats
  4. Soccer ball the appropriate size for your child's age (4-7 years old: Size 3. 8-9 years old: Size 4. 10-11 years old: Size 5)
  5. Sunscreen
  6. Water bottle full of water (we will have water jugs available each day to refill water bottles as needed)
  7. Jacket
  8. A good lunch and some easy to eat snacks

The Play Like a B.O.S.S. Soccer Camp offers a reduced fee if your child will attend all 4 sessions. First, click the "SELECT A DATE" button and select "Tue, May 30 (9:00 AM)". Then, click the "REGISTER" button and select the "All 4 days - Reduced Rate" option. If your child will be attending certain days only, simply register separately for each day you plan on attending. We ask for your child's name, age, and gender each time you register so we can plan each session accordingly and make sure we have the correct children in each session. You can register multiple children simultaneously per day or for all 4 days.

Here is the daily breakdown:

  • Tuesday, May 30: Dribbling Theme. In this session we will introduce the basics of dribbling technique and how to manipulate the ball in order to beat an opponent, create space, pass, and shoot. These skills will be honed in small-sided games.
  • Wednesday, May 31: Passing Theme. In this session we will introduce the basics of passing and receiving, which builds upon the Dribbling Theme. These skills will be honed in small-sided games.
  • Thursday, June 1: Ball Striking Theme. In this session we will introduce the proper technique and approach to striking the ball in order to shoot or pass long distances, which builds upon the Passing Theme. These skills will be honed in small-sided games.
  • Friday, June 2: Game Fundamentals. In this session we will introduce the basic structure of the game and how to combine with teammates in order to move the ball around with purpose and try to score goals. This builds upon the Dribbling, Passing, and Ball Striking themes. These skills will be honed in small-sided games.

If you have any questions about the camp please contact the organizer.

We look forward to seeing you at the field!
