Event description

Description

50 years ago, the first papers proving the theory of plate tectonics began to emerge. Of the many people and institutions involved in the “Plate Tectonics Revolution” of the late 60’s and early 70’s, a notable portion were SIO graduate students and postdoctoral scholars.

This 2-day symposium will feature talks, discussion forums, a networking luncheon, and a panel on Women in the Geosciences. We hope to celebrate the accomplishments of our alumni by bring together distinguished speakers, current students and faculty, and alumni.

For more information, please contact sioplatetectonics50@gmail.com or visit https://scripps.ucsd.edu/symposiums/tectonics/

As bringing in speakers for this event and renting out venue requires significant funds, we would appreciate any donations through UCSD that can support this event. If you are interested in helping out, please visit: http://bit.ly/2EpOM1O
