Event description

Description

Are you familiar with Tufts community waste sorting protocols?

Do you know what happens to the plastic waste after they are collected and sent to the recycling center?

You may know that waste recycling service is a global industry, in which Asia Pacific--mainly China--dominates the market. But do you know what the industry looks like on the other side of the ocean, and what impact it has on the environment and people's lives there?

Fletcher China Club and Fletcher Energy and Environment Club (FLEEC) invite Shoshana Blank from Tufts Sustainability Office to share the stories behind each garbage cans.

We will show you the truth of waste processing with some documentary clips. Shoshana will talk about how to minimize the impact by changing our waste sorting behavior at Tufts.

Everyone’s actions can add up to greater change!

Join us on Monday, Feb 27, 5:30 pm, Olin Center Room 110. Let's make some changes!

Refreshment will be provided!
