Event Information
About this Event
Each week we’ll highlight a separate theme that focuses on healing, collaboration and personal growth.
Session One: January 18 | Monifa Akosua
Journey with me as we invoke the power of individual leadership, on this path we’re seeking out our light and using it to shine through our fears and grief. I invite you to come with an open heart and bring your candle into the space so we can light the source within us.
Session Two : January 25th | Beto Ortiz Silva
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. suggested that in our struggle of resistance, we often leave out the element of reconciliation. MLK stated that "our ultimate end must be the creation of the beloved community", and that community can only be built through reconciliation. This "Planting Seeds of Hope" workshop will engage participants in conversation and a creative writing exercise that will explore MLK's proposal on reconciliation and community.
Session Three: February 1 | Keizen Li Qian
Dr. King spoke wisdom from many traditions with his words, "Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." What love is there when we face helplessness, loneliness, and despair? In this gathering to uplift the spirit of the community, we will examine an ancient Buddhist prayer of goodwill through modern lenses.
