About this Event

Please join Dottie Hanna, owner of Twinflower Nursery on this unique opportunity on propagation techniques for gardening with Florida native plants. Dottie is a Cuplet Fern member with years of botanical garden and horticulture study, indoor nursery experience.

This special course is packed with information! Topics that will be discussed are cuttings, layering, division, budding, grafting, seed germination, soil, water, oxygen, and temperature requirements during the initial stages to ensure successful growth specific to our natives. Dottie will have a special focus on tip propagation. All in all, the purpose of the course will be to help you grow more Florida native plants with a higher rate of success!

Proceeds from ticket sales cover costs for the event put together by Cuplet Fern Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society, whose mission is the conservation, preservation, and restoration of native plants in Seminole County.

If you have them, please bring gardening gloves, scissors, a sturdy handheld pruning shear, and a gardening spade. Some hands-on opportunities will be available during the presentation for you to engage in propagation techniques directly.

As a thank you for your time and support, Dottie will be giving away a propagated plant in a 4" pot to each attendee.
