Plant-Based Cooking: Delectable Summer Dishes

Saturday, July 27, 2019

11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Instructor: Jennifer Hostetter

Looking for delicious ways to cut down on your meat consumption, or simply to boost your nutrition? Plant-based cooking is not just good for your health; it’s also great for the planet. And what’s more, fruits and vegetables create some of the most visually stunning, vibrantly flavorful dishes that will grace your table. So get your cameras ready! In this class we’ll beat the summer heat with a selection of globally-inspired, flavor-packed salads and other dishes where fruits and vegetables are the star. We will be using lots of fresh and colorful produce, plus protein-packed legumes and beans; and healthy fats such as avocados, coconut, olive oil, and more. And the flavors will span the globe from Asia to the Mediterranean to Latin America. Plus, we’ll have some nibbles for snacking, and something refreshing to sip on while we cook.

Adults of drinking age are welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverages to enjoy during the class, if desired. Suggested pairings: Dry white wines, sparkling wines, rosés, light-bodied reds, pale ales, lager beers, shandies, or your favorite summer libation.
