Description

Get your hands dirty and do something good for nature this fall!

Join One Tree Planted and San Francisco Recreation and Parks in restoring and planting shrubs in Heron's Head Park!

The park, formerly a brownfield, is now a home to hundreds of birds, small land mammals such as skunks, racoons, field mice and other critters that shy away from humans. We will be planting an assortment of Native shrub plants, that have shallow roots systems. These plants may consist of sticky monkey, California sage, ceanothus, flowering currant, coyote brush, maybe lizards tail, maybe mazanitas etc.

We will be planting from 10am -12pm but then we invite you to stay for a fun filled day for all ages, since we will be learning about the EcoCenter and its sustainable features. Create native plant seed bombs, aid us in maintaining our outdoor rustic classroom by weeding and mulching, go on a bird walk, try your hand at rock climbing, test your core balance skating with the Mobile Rec team, visit the various resource tables to learn about what local Bayview Organizations have to offer and much more...
