Planning and Scheduling Fundamentals with the Outage! Business Simulation

Reduce time and costs while driving higher efficiency in your work processes.

This course, paired with the Outage! experience, teaches maintenance planning and scheduling best practices to more efficiently use maintenance labor and reduce time to effectively plan work, as well as proven methods for backlog management and work prioritization. It covers the individual roles of the Planning and Scheduling Work Team that are used to improve all elements of the Work Management System, including work identification, work planning, work scheduling, work execution, documenting work history, and Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS). It also includes best practices of Shutdown/Turnaround/Outage (STO) management.

The Outage! Business Simulation provides the application of real life simulations to practice planning, scheduling, and executing an outage.

During this course, you will learn to:

  • Clearly define roles and responsibilities of the Planning and Scheduling Work Team
  • Effectively identify and prioritize work
  • Calculate and manage backlog
  • Perform equipment walk downs and develop job scope
  • Estimate time
  • Schedule routine daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks
  • Determine Critical Path
  • Implement and complete the process for planning and tracking complex down-day and outage events
  • Reduce Mean Time to Repair (MTTR)
  • Increase the Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF)
  • Increase the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)

Previous Attendees:

"The rigor around the training provided was second to none. I would also recommend the use of Allied Reliability around their ability to influence at all levels of business advising on stakeholder analysis and how best to roll out any solution. We've seen some great results following the implementation and more importantly we have been left self sufficient with the internal skills to push forward yet further."

Graham Blair CMRP, UK Asset Care Manager | Molson Coors
