The University of Pittsburgh makes two methods of plagiarism detection available to Pitt faculty: Turnitin and SafeAssign. Both of these services are integrated with Blackboard, while Turnitin also offers a stand-alone web interface as well. This workshop will cover the pros and cons of both services, how to set up assignments so your students can submit their work, how to view the reporting on student work, and how to leave feedback and comments for students to view.
By the end of this workshop, you will be able to
- Interpret Turnitin’s and SafeAssign's originality reports;
- Use Turnitin and Blackboard to make written and verbal annotations to student work;
- Create and manage a Turnitin Direct Assignment in Blackboard
- Create and manage a SafeAssign Assignment in Blackboard
Please note that after registration, you will recieve a confimration email containing a link to an anonymous pre-workshop survey, which helps us tailor each workshop to the needs and skill-levels of the attendees. Please look for the link when you get your confirmation.
